The Made in Chicago series offers two local artists or companies up to 40 minutes each to showcase new work developed from pieces previously presented at Scratch Night.
MATADORA is a devised choreographic work by INSÉKTA that begins with the question: what does rage look like in the body? The work traces the emergence and mutation of suppressed Latiné rage — a force of dignity, agency, and self-possession.
INSÉKTA (Camila Rivero Pooley) is a Venezuelan–Peruvian director, choreographer, and performer based in Chicago whose work moves between dance, physical theatre, and visual culture. Shaped by migration and cultural multiplicity, their work draws from Latiné Futurism, femme mythologies, and absurdism to create grotesque and exaggerated physical states where the body becomes creature, ritual, and spectacle.
Their projects include MATADORA, a devised choreographic work unleashing Latiné rage, and _copycats_, a hyper-pop street performance that satirizes cultural homogenization through improvisation. INSÉKTA’s work has been presented at SPACES Gallery (Cleveland), Blow Up Film Festival (Chicago), Experimental Forum (NYC), and FAE Lima (Peru).

WHAT’S THE NEW F-WORD YOU CREATED?
Let’s just say: LegLand’s The New F-Word is a show about fog. Our newest production sucks in the atmosphere of artificial seriousness and blows out mystery’s quickest short cut. Eerie haunted houses and apathetic French men smoking cigarettes shouldn't be the only two genders that get to have fun, so come join LegLand as we explore increasingly absurd vignettes in which fog, and the emotional states it signifies, takes center stage. The New F-Word is a fusion of comedic discomfort & exaggerated theatrical moodiness to ask our audience “What’s really so cool about sitting in a smokey room anyway?”
IS THIS A BRAND NEW WORD FOR LEGLAND COMPLETELY??
Let’s just say: LegLand has done it again, again: first they created LegLand, then they created an award winning show (2024 Winner of The Vivid Award for Visual Theatre at the Borderlight Theatre Festival), and NOW they created a new F word. LegLand premiered their new F word at the very same International Physical Theatre Festival that you’re about to purchase these tickets for, but in the past and on a Monday (Scratch Night ‘25) instead of this Tuesday (Made In ‘26).
We took a pit stop, performing a short snippet of this LEG FOGtastic piece at the LEGendary STEPpenwolf, but now we are ready to bring this fog baby home so come and throw a fog filled party with us.
WHAT’S LEGLAND ANYWAY???
Let’s just say: LegLand is a theater collective dedicated to creating absurd spectacle for the stage. We’re composed of three artists: Connor Konz, Danny Gadaj, and Mo Less. With bizarre props and costumes, surreal language, and warped video elements, we distort the traditional sketch comedy show into something that is both distasteful and delicious.Leaning on foundations in bouffon, drag, and sketch comedy, LegLand promises to guide you through a dense and energetic world where the concept of legs is used as an entry point for our audience, to signal that in LegLand nothing is as it seems. Part satire, part performance art, part bouffon clown, a LegLand show is a fever dream you don’t want to wake up from.
