Beau and Aero
What if the Wright brothers went wrong? Beau & Aero is an acrobatic, slapstick, latex-heavy comedy featuring two incompetent aviators on their quest for flight. Pompous pilot Beau & his clueless co-pilot Aero have crash landed. The unlikely aeronautic duo tries everything to get back into the air - from propellers and parachutes, to balloons of all sizes, but to no avail. Distracted by their own imaginations, and the notably unhelpful contents of their emergency supply crate, the two tumble through hijinks and comedic conundrums, before emerging out the other side. The show blends clown with elements of acrobatics, mime, and puppetry, with wordless humor that will tickle audiences of all ages and languages. A strong vintage aesthetic paired with the duo’s ridiculous antics onstage is a nostalgic nod to timeless classics of old American Vaudeville. It’s like Charlie Chaplin meets Amelia Earhardt. Whether or not these bumbling aeronauts Beau & Aero will make your spirits soar.
A Little Bit Off
From the depths of the damp and dewy Pacific NorthWest, the physical comedy duo A Little Bit Off has made a splash on the Fringe circuit and beyond over the past decade, racking up critical acclaim and winning over 20 awards at festivals across The US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The company began as a theatrical collaboration between co-founders Amica Hunter (they/them) and David Cantor (they/he), who met while training clown and acrobatics at the San Francisco Circus Center. Drawing inspiration from American vaudevillians, and work of contemporary European artists like James Thierree. Amica and David have developed their own unique and quirky style, and have devised, produced, and toured five full productions with strong visual themes, hilarious character relationships, mind-boggling tricks, and an off beat vibe of barely controlled chaos. Both the San Diego Free Press and the London Free Press have called their work “physical comedy at its best.”
A Little Bit Off’s celebrated repertoire includes Beau & Aero - a show about two acrobatic aeronaughts grounded with a surplus of balloons; Bella Culpa - following a pair of delightfully deranged Edwardian servants in their struggle against pests and the passage of time; Bad Habits - A catholic catastrophe featuring nuns on hoverboards; and A Grave Mistake - The choose your own adventure tale of two grave-robbing swindlers.
In addition to touring internationally, A Little Bit Off spent several years producing and hosting a monthly cabaret in Portland, OR. The duo has performed countless short acts, hosted many events, and taught dozens of workshops during their travels. Amica & David are now mostly focusing on separate projects, but they are always thrilled to get the chance to join forces and share the stage again with their ridiculous shows that are always just a little bit off.
