"Something was going to break, something has broken.

I no longer feel- how to put it? -Held Up”

'Now You Have Run Out of Shelter' is a piece by KaST based on their lab cooperation on physical expression and creative process, which have accelerated in the last years.

The piece displays the indifference, exhaustion and loneliness of a person in a 1,9 meters wide and 3 meters long attic, who has chosen to separate her own life from the outside world.

Inspired by Georges Perec's novel A Man Asleep.

The Starting point of this piece is the feeling of being stuck in one’s own country. From this point on it has gained a universal quality by using body, literature, clown as it is understandably aimed by the interdisciplinary approach itself. The deformed body, the manipulated object, and the inorganic sound are the main elements used in this approach.

KaST was collectively formed in 2007 to perform researches and experiments on performing arts beyond conventional perceptions. They produce interdisciplinary pieces of music, dance, video, theatre and performance both in Turkey and abroad. KaST works with diverse physical expression methods including amorphous forms of the body as well as the sound and speech, which is channeled through the body itself.
