Hodge Podge
Benjamin Domask-Ruh
HODGE PODGE is an experimental circus and physical theatre piece exploring the alternative to a narrative and the exceptions to entertaining art. HODGE PODGE hopes to overcome the media gap presented by streaming services such as netflix, hulu, etc.. It facilitates interaction, engagement, and play by bringing an audience together and attempting to connect memories to experience.
Ask yourself: What do you do when you are bored? Do you get bored anymore? When was the last time you daydreamed? In HODGE PODGE, we find ourselves in a moment. A singular moment of one person’s life. A particular moment where we meander through the birth, the realization, and the finalé of a thought.
Pink bubblegum-balls clash with a bubble machine on a stage adorned with a blue tarp, furnished by green grass, accented around a swinging umbrella, clanky tin cans, vibrant colors, and peacock feathers flying through a musical note filled airspace. Join us on this journey as we return to daydreaming.
Warning: Balls will be juggled, feathers will be balanced, giant scissors appear, and a projector will be used.
