It’s the summer of 1897 and the three heroic Swedes set off for the North Pole in an untested, hydrogen filled balloon hell bent on claiming the Pole for king and country and for chauvinist mankind. They disappear into the frozen north, perhaps for ever! The woman they left behind has not forgotten them, she knows they are alive, and only she can find a way to save them, even if it takes 33 years.

A mix of clown and physical theatre with some big moustaches, a cramped balloon basket, a variety of goggles and a very small Swedish flag, Dead Rabbits evoke a captivating true story s both hilarious and tragic.

Winners of the Les Infants Terrible Award 2019, Dead Rabbits present a highly visual and physical journey through whiter than white nights and darker than dark days, where nothing is what it seems. A tale of love, loss and and strange power of the human heart.

Using visual, ensemble storytelling, live music, puppetry and a large dose of humour Dead Rabbits Theatre tell stories that take the audience from the hilarious to the heart-breaking. We move from tragedy to moments of pure joy and try to connect on a personal and intimate level with our audiences.
